Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, that fun little day when you show the one you love a little appreciation (hopefully we do this every day!). Do you go all out or just give a small token of your love to your significant other? Is your significant other your best friend? You can read why they should be in this POST.
At this stage of our life, I am sure most of us usually buy something if we want it (that makes Christmas really hard in this house!). When my hubby wants something, he just goes out and gets it. Hence the sound bar in the closet that needs to be returned…HA! But, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be like that, just a thought little gift will make them smile, I know it does me!
Who was St. Valentine, anyway?
From what I can find, there are several different legends about St. Valentine. I am going to share my favorite and the one I think that is the most romantic.
During the third century in Rome, Claudius II outlawed marriage for young men. He felt that single men made better soldiers than those that were married and had children. Valentine was a priest and continued to marry young couples in secret until he was caught and put to death. Sigh.
So there you have it! And did you know…
An estimated 1 billion valentine’s day cards are given each year? Second only to Christmas cards. WOW!!
So what do you get your spouse for what some people feel is just a Hallmark holiday? Here are a few ideas I found for you.

Make a personalized book all about the two of you. What a great gift for someone that has everything.
These gold tip roses will last forever. I have 5 in different colors, my hubby got them for me every year for the first 5 years we were together.
This Yeti tumbler is awesome in red and will allow the one you love to take a beverage hot or cold with them wherever they go. Fill it with some Hershey Kisses and it makes a great Valentine’s Day gift.;
Personalize those Hershey Kisses with these cute stickers. Nothing says I love you like chocolate for Valentine’s Day.
A tin filled with decorated chocolate covered Oreos……ummmmmm, YES!!!
Whatever you pick to give to the one you love on Valentine’s Day, make it thoughtful. Remember, your gift doesn’t have to break the bank because it is the thought that counts!
Talk to you soon,
